I went around in circles trying to get things to work or look right on my site. My main problem: I was testing in Internet Explorer. It turns out Microsoft doesn’t feel any great urge to conform to the standards the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is defining: something that will ultimately benefit everyone. So even though my code was – usually – right, it did goofy things in my browser.
I’m now much older, and a little wiser, and I at least know what the code is supposed to do. I can pretty quickly get my design working in most browsers but I still spend lots of time trying to find workarounds for the “IE Bug Suite”, as it’s referred to
