Parting Shot

Better remorse for what you’ve done than regret for what you didn’t.” - Unknown

I can almost hear one of my Aunt’s telling me (again) that I’m nuts, may she rest in peace, and at my age! Far too many people have said to me lately; “I wish I’d done that when I had the chance, but it’s too late now”. I’ve had this opportunity shoved down my throat and I’m going to take it. Besides, I need get away to let some of the poison out of my system. I can’t remember what it’s like NOT to have a clenched jaw. It’s a pity that eventhough they teach a sense of fair play in American schools, when it comes to business, it’s so rarely practiced. What blindsided me was that the support I expected from Switzerland shriveled up faster than a fat mans dick in an alpine stream.

My first extended trip lasted for two years. This time around, at 47, with a bit of experience under my belt and an unhealthy amount of cynicism, I’ll do well if I stay out of trouble. Last time out, Ronald Regan was president, and the world sat up and took notice. Now we have George W., and talk about a geopolitical double take. I’ve already had some explaining to do. All in all, it still might be better to be out of the country before it all hits the fan.

I’ve been lax about keeping in touch with the people I care about. This site is a place for you to check up on me. By having it out there for all to see in cyberspace, it may help me overcome my discipline deficit.
