I’ve been wondering why the Obama campaign has not reacted more aggressively to the repeated bogus, sometimes silly, claims that the McCain campaign throws to the media, and I think I figured it out.

The democrats don’t feel the need for harsher tactics because they think the American public is smart enough to know the republicans are just using lipstick to distract them from the issues, and the republicans feel they can keep it up because they think the American public is stupid enough to keep believing it.
